Ireland Wolfhounds hunt down Scots
Mike Blair: Losing return to action
Scotland co-captain Mike Blair endured a losing return to action as Scotland 'A' were beaten 34-19 by the Ireland Wolfhounds at Ravenhill on Friday.
The Wolfhounds bounced back from their defeat at the hand of the England Saxons last weekend to lead 19-0 at the break, courtesy of a try from Leinster centre Fergus McFadden and one from Chris Henry as well as three penalties from Ian Humphreys.
Scotland A were much improved in the second half, with tries from flanker James Eddie and centre Mark Robertson bringing them back into the game, but McFadden, Isaac Boss and Munster's recruit from Leicester Johne Murphy took the Ireland Wolfhounds safely home.
Scotland coach Sean Lineen took few positives from the game and lamented his side's mistakes allowing their hosts to capitalise.
"There were a lot of good performances, but I was very disappointed with the result," he said.
"We played like a team that had not been together very long and all of their five tries came from us giving them the ball.
"I was pleased with certain aspects, but all five of Ireland's tries came from our mistakes. Ireland's tries came from four turnovers and one aimless kick which they successfully counter-attacked."
