Cueto struggling with drought

Cueto struggling with drought

Mark Cueto: Hungry

Mark Cueto says his seven-Test England try drought is "absolutely killing" him, despite England's good start to the Six Nations.

The Sale Sharks back has not crossed the whitewash for England for almost a year, his last try coming against France last March.

And for a man who scored four tries in his first three international games, and has 15 in 36 starts, that is a huge frustration.

He told the Daily Mirror: "It's absolutely killing me that I'm not scoring because, as a wing, that's what I'm there to do.

"I feel great, as good as I've ever felt. I feel sharp, I feel fit, I feel strong.

"I am happy with every other aspect of my game. All that's missing are the tries."

England opened their Six Nations campaign with a 30-17 victory over Wales on Saturday, and Cueto admits they weren't at their best.

He added: "It was a rusty performance. But at the end of the day we scored three tries and beat a good Welsh side by 13 points."
